Time to slack off the lines, going to be settling firmly on the bottom in the evenings in our marina.

Looking at the tables, I see only a slight increase in range at our home marina in Gig Harbor. The good news, though is that the -3' low on Christmas is near midnight. We are landlocked at any tide below 0 exactly because of a creek outlook silting at the open end of the fairway. Guess I'll get to go out over the holidays after all.

John, what marina/harbor are you in that you will touch bottom?

King tides??
Now I know of Spring and Neap tides. But in all of my 53 years of sailing I've never heard of King tides.

I live just around the corner from Point Atkinson. I sure hope we don't get a good Nor'wester on one of those 16' tides or my boatyard will be ankle deep.

I was at the Edmonds Marina last night about 9:30 with a -3.1.....docks were out of the water etc. There is a J44 that has to leave its normal slip and go to the guest dock so it will not bottom out. There is some 12.3's the next two morning IIRC at 6-7am, so 15' of difference! should make for some fun currents in some of the channels too!

Merry Christmas to those of you in the Salish sea basin!
