hand bearing Weems & Plath compass (hockey puck), and the book "longitude" about the contest to create an accurate chronometer for the British Admiralty. From what i gleaned so far, the guy was a self taught clockmaker and worked on the problem for 40 years. The grand prize: 20,000 pounds. In that day, a king's ransom!. worth it to keep the ships from getting lost with precious cargo.....and best....gift certs toward a new mainsail!!!!!

I gave my son some new dock lines and new furling lines (with custom whipped ends by yours truly), does that count?

Gave my wife an electric fresh water head. That was good for a few jokes.
