This is the way less traveled for sure but actually means shorter passages then Galapagos-Marquesas. You have to be pretty much self-contained and not expecting to rely on anyone, from Galapagos to FP we saw three boats including on AIS- there were 5 boats anchoraged at Easter with 2 more coming after we left. The anchorages there are a joke, you are just anchored in the open ocean basically, except for one amazing one on the north coast that could become a death trap with decent northerly swells.
Thank you for the first hand info! Awesome. I'd love to hear more about your trip and impressions if you ever want to share (pm or public thread).

Alessandro Di Benedetto - If you've ever done a distance race on a small boat, you understand why this was such an accomplishment.

I should have added Matt Rutherford to my list. Circumnavigating North and South America non-stop in a 27' boat to raise awareness and money for handicapped sailors? Big inspiration in my book.

Frank Worsley ...Captain of Shackleton's Endurance. Navigated the James Caird 900 miles from Elephant Island to South Georgia Island in 40-50 Seas using only a Sextant with little or no sun reference.
