Upcoming hurricane season
Just curious on what this unseasonably warm winter might mean for the hurricane season this year? Any meteorologists out there?
NOAA has not made public its predictions yet. They made changes to their marine zones:
Effective Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 200 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
or 1800 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the Tropical Analysis and
Forecast Branch (TAFB) of the National Hurricane Center will reconfigure
its marine zones for the offshore waters in the Caribbean and Southwest
North Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.
Currently there are five (5) marine zones covering the Caribbean and
Southwest North Atlantic and four (4) marine zones covering the Gulf of
Mexico. These zones will be reconfigured into twenty-four (24) marine
zones to cover the Caribbean and Southwest North Atlantic and eight (8)
zones to cover the Gulf of Mexico. Marine observations, local effects,
and substantial customer feedback all indicate that the current configuration
of marine zones does not adequately address the local effects and does not
provide enough detail for the marine community. This reconfiguration will
serve to improve the precision of marine warnings, forecasts, and other
services by allowing forecasters to be more area specific.
your kidding right, noaa can't predict what its going to do next week
and the models they use, can't even replay what happened in the past few years, when fed the actual information of what occurred - similar to global warming predictive models....
soooo, until they can prove their "models" are accurate...
one can only predict hurricanes will happen, and will be strong or weak depending on the cycle and the wind/water/current, and will inflict damage on a grand scale when they hit large population areas and areas where idiots chose to build/live and the government continues to replace the idiot's buildings/cities
What you should do, is to set aside resource to protect your life and that property that is important to you..expecting anything more...is a risk that may not be mitigated.
