Boston Harbor Moorings

Last year we were going to hit Peddocks but did not go because of weather. I think I was told there are 12 mooring at Peddock's a several at Goerges, Spectacle, and few at several of the others.

We called a main number (Constitution Marina?), but now it seems that Hignham YC is overseeing them.

According to the website, there are 30 scattered around the islands.

Boston harbor islands moorings

Supposedly the moorings are coming back this year. We sail out of Hingham and liked the moorings for a lazy day on the water. At the end of last season a few were back in.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain

the Boston harbor mooring went in last year, but went in late and there didn't appear to be as many as the past couple of years

Don't blow air up my rear, be useful and blow it at the sails!

Huck, you did say "New England" in your original post. Last I checked, Boston was still part of New England. See? That's what you get for spending your study halls in the chat room and not cracking the books.

Somewhere around the Elizabeth Islands? Hadley Harbor? Block? Newport? Maine Coast somewhere?

Cuttyhunk or Block could work for us. Noank is a tad shallow, but Stonington might be an alternative to that. Newport is so big and busy that a low-key (?) event like this might be lost in the hubub. People could hit Newport before or after a Sailnet RDV, if they wanted. The New Bedford waterfront has also benefitted from a huge makeover. Friends who went there last summer were quite impressed, not only by the visiting USCG Barque Eagle, but by the facilities, shops and activities available within a short walking distance.
