Not to quibble but thongs are underwear. Do you wear 'an underwear' or a 'pair of underwear'?

Of course I realize that this thread has taken a turn to the disturbing.

What started as a nice observation about socks has devolved into a debate about articles - both grammatical and of personal attire.

Maybe someone's thongs are too tight?

Erm. Back to socks.

Our official sock burning is being held 17 March. After the socks get burned...no socks until winter.

I start going 'sockless' in May and stay unencumbered until September.

Guess I'm missing something, 'cause it never occurred to me he was talking about anything other than footwear. But then, when I was growing up, thongs were for the feet, not underwear.

I used to do that and everyone laughed at me - until I discovered that you're supposed to put the socks down the front!

I found this on E-Bay. You may want one for your boat:

Thongs(Oz)= Jangles(NZ) flip flops(anywhere else) are for feet, maybe we should all call them forewards's as you sure as hell cant go backwards in them. What every one else calls thongs we call G strings or bum flossers. I AM THE CAPTAIN. get over it. all in good fun, this could start sailnet getting back to the good old days.
