"I just finished my first ASA course last week, and I've got a really nice-looking pair of Topsiders. How come the owner of the boat I crew on won't listen to me when I tell her what she's doing wrong?"

It would have to be a CAT of course - just think of the Karmic implications of six dogs on a cat.

Another day of this thread and they can close down Sailnet for a year or two - there will be nothing left to say.

BTW, I really need to know how many sextants I need to have onboard to go from Boston to New York and if I would be a complete wus if I pushed the EPIRB button when it got dark at night.

I'm having a hard time gybing my spinnaker singlehanded while offshore after the breeze picks up over 25 knots on my 40' boat. Also, my friend says I need tethers and jacklines, what are those?

My friend's boat is named Mayday. Every time I hail him on the VHF, people get irate. What can I do?

Since the dogs eat so much, I figured i could bring a few assault rifles to shoot birds and fish to supplement cans of dog food that I can heat up in boiling water.
For your first post you seem to fit in to this crowd remarkably well.
