Organized Sailing Associations

If you were joining an organized sailing association, which would you choose and why?

Do you mean a national organization like US Sailing or ASA or a local association?

I joined US Sailing to support sailing as a sport and I joined local clubs for the sailing, friendship, knowledge and great food.

I was going to join the Professional Procrastinators Association, but never got around to filling out the paperwork.
