help finding old post

Does anyone know where I might find an old post I read some time ago about a solo sailor who had to abandon ship after winning the Transpac race while on the way home? I have searched everywhere and can't seem to find it. Might have been a link to a blog...Not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

Re: help finding old post

The man you are talking about is Skip Allen. I wonder if ericread's 2009 reply in this thread about Laura Dekker isn't the one you seek.

If you aren't talking about a sailnet posting or are looking for background, this Sailing Magazine article on abandoning ship may be what you are after.

If neither of those is the posting you have in mind, then use a little bit of Google fu. Enter:
site:sailnet.com "Skip Allen"
or
"Skip Allen"
(if you aren't looking for something just on Sailnet) into Google and start working your way down the listing.

That is it! Found the article, thought I had deleted the post. Here it is if anyone wants it: Skip Allan's Decision to Scuttle Wildflower | Single-Handed Transpac Champion Makes a Difficult Decision | I Sail Away

Thanks DaCap!
