I have just bought a Aloha 28,8 and i love the boat. The only problem with the boat is when i put the motor in reverse it pulls to port, i have checked the prop and everything looks ok. Does anybody else have this prplem with there 28,8 aloha and if so
is there a solution?
You''re experiencing prop walk, which is common and normal in lots of boats. Learn to use it to your advantage. For example, coming up to a dock, or to another boat to raft up, keep it on your port side and use a little reverse at the end to swing the aft of the boat over to the dock or other boat. One trick to maintain steerage in reverse is to rev up the engine to get some momentum up, then shift into neutral. you can steer easily then in either direction. Keep using bursts of power as needed, then shift back into neutral.
Play with it, learn to use it and you''ll see that it can be beneficial.
