North U Racing Trim Course, is it for non-racers?

I'm not a racer, yet, but I signed up for this seminar figuring to improve my upwind performance. I'm sure I'll get something out of it even though it's geared for racing. Any other non-racers out there who took the seminar and want to share their opinions?

ANYTIME you can take a course that will help you be a better __________ you will improve what you do. WHile I have not taken this course, I wish too, I have taken ski racing courses and do not race, they did help my skiing! I would suspect the same will occur. You will get the tools to see how well you sails are set, make the best speed i certain conditions etc. I think "most" of use would like that option vs the iron genny useage.

Funny you should ask. I just enrolled in it 2 minutes ago. I'm a racer, but you're sure to learn all kinds of good stuff that will make you a better sailor. Racing is really all about learning some of the fine points that will help you sail more efficiently, and knowledge and efficiency are good, whether you're a racer or a cruiser.

That's what I figured and is one of the reasons I signed up. Can't wait to try out my new found knowledge down on our BVI charter in May! Sailing upwind on the north side of Tortola was no fun, so looking to do better on this trip.
