Who makes good aluminum sailboats, looking for some used ones 40 to 50ft range

Looking for model names and companies over the years that make good
solid aluminum sailboat designs.
Ones I should be looking at on the used market.
Looking for something in the 40 to 50ft range.

The French. Try looking in Martinique or Guadeloupe.

Hard to beat Royal Huisman.

These days they just build megayachts, like Athena and Meteor. But there are some really nice, smaller designs on the used market. Many executed in aluminum, which is not a material most builders seem comfortable in. I've seen alu R-Hs as small as 33'.

The French do a lot with aluminum. Might look into French yards. It has historically been a custom-boat niche market.

Beyond those already mentioned, Van de Stat (Dutch) has a good reputation. In the U.S., Derecktor has also built a reasonable number of good-looking aluminum hulls.
