ICW - Oriental to Morehead City (Adams Creek)

Hello - I am thinking about taking my 22 foot boat (3 foot draft) from Oriental to Morehead City via the ICW. I believe this section is called the adams creek area.

Given the 3 foot draft, is this something I should not even attempt?

For those of you who have made this trip, are there facilities along the way?

Thank you very much,
Synapse

That should not be a problem for you, just watch the current. It can be rather fast in the canal, I've seen it around 2 kts. There are anchorages around Cedar Creek, and Seagate Marina about 12nm north of M.C., and more marinas as you get to the south end of the canal.

Your 3-foot draft shouldn't be a problem at all. I second the recommendation of paying close attention to what the current is doing. That entrance to Seagate can be interesting when the current is running fast.
