comparing cruisers....IP 31/32 & Caliber 33

I have seen the string on comparing newer/larger IP's with caliber and others,,
But does anyone have any comments on comparing the earlier Island packet 31 and the caliber 33. I use the IP 31 because it compares price wise with the caliber 33. The IP 32 is running some 20000$ more the a caliber 33. I chartered a IP 32 for a week with my wife 2 summers ago on the chesapeake, and sure the IP is luxurious but its slow both on motoring and sailing. I understand the IP31 is even slower. From what Ive seen both boats are constructed well, but how do they match up, on sailing or motoring.

We almost bought a Caliber 33 and have friends that have one. I haven't sailed on the IP's but "think" the Caliber would be a fair bit faster sailing boat.

IMHO the Caliber 33 offers incredible acommodations for its size and based on what I've seen of IP's would choose the Caliber hands down. (Caveat's of course that both boats were equally well mantained).
