Current tables

I have found good resources for tides but have a hard time finding anything for current tables. Looking particularly for Cape Cod, Narragansett Bay area. Any help appreciated.

I use the NOAA current pages. They give you a nice formatted table for various points around where you live as well as around Maine, Mass, etc.

Those are the absolute best. Beats the heck out of trying to use tide tables and adjust for cyclic phase differences.

The link you posted is for year 2010. 2012 is here: Tidal Current Tables

Most East Coast sailors use Eldridge's for tides and current tables in a convenient format.

Eldridge's is a must.

Re: Current tables

NOAA web site is better than Eldridges. Much more data points. I print out the tables for where I'm going before I leave.

Re: Current tables

Eldridge has made note in the 2012 edition, of the sometimes inaccurate data gleaned from NOAA times . It seems that a lot of the NOAA times are quite inaccurate because they have not been updated in many years. I experienced a great discrepancy last summer in current predictions around Fisher's Island, The Race, and Plum Gut. Heading west out of Fishers, the difference was close to 2 hours. These are tough areas to predict but with this much discrepancy, it is impossible to calculate navigation accurately.
