Cape Cod Marine Surveyor

your assistance please,

I'm a florida resident looking online at a boat for sale in cataumet (cape cod). SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) lists a number of marine surveyors in the area. do any of you have direct experience with a marine surveyor in the area, one who you could recommend? your assistance is appreciated.
thanks,
george

Re: Cape Cod Marine Surveyor

When I bought a boat at a yard in Falmouth 3 years ago, I used Rhode Island Marine Survey. They were more than willing to come up from Newport (twice, actually) and I was very pleased with how thorough a job they do. www dot rimarinesurvey dot com.

Re: Cape Cod Marine Surveyor

I've used Peter Hunt for my last two boats (one monohull, one a multihull). I recommend him highly.

If you can be there for the survey, do so. It's a better chance to learn about your boat than just about any other time. Peter is great at explaining what he's doing as he works.

Fred has helped me out quite a few times with different boats. Feel free to PM me if you want more. Good luck with your purchase.

Re: Cape Cod Marine Surveyor

I'll 2nd the vote for Peter Hunt. He handled the survey on our Hunter 41DS, spent a full 10 hours on the boat, and was very reasonably priced.

Re: Cape Cod Marine Surveyor

Same with Peter Hunt
I bought my boat with a survey from him and never found any surprise or unlisted problem
