Has any one sailed from florida to the bahamas in a 27 sailboat. Is this to small should I go larger?

Re: sailing the Bahamas

I was following a blog where they did it from Texas to Bahamas and on to Grenada in a Hull Master 26, so as long as your happy with the boat I'd say go for it and setup the boat for the trip, sail it and have fun learning along the way

Folks take jet skis over. If everything in in good shape and weather is right--why not. If I get my Potter 19 down that way I will cross.

Re: sailing the Bahamas

We did it in my 28' and I'd do it again in a 23' if necessary.
There is a couple that had done it numerous times in a home built 19' "micro-cruiser". However, be prepared to be the smallest boat in every harbor, makes people think you're more crazy than you really are when they're all on mega-boats.
