Tanzer 27 Rub Rail

I want to replace my rub rail on a Tanzer 27. There are several manufactures and many more styles. Has anyone done this and could recommend a product or a manufacturer that would work as a replacement product?

Re: Tanzer 27 Rub Rail

I used a 2 piece plastic rub rail that came from a subra ski boat builder[the tanzer 27 is basicaly the same boat as a 26 ft paceship] it was a very easy fix, just use a heat gun to turn the corners

Re: Tanzer 27 Rub Rail

I had to repair a short stretch of rub rail that was torn up during out last hurricane and flooding when it rubbed against a piling for three days. I found a perfect match at Hamilton Marine - Search . They have more rub rail styles than any location I could find, the service was excellent and they shipped it the same day.

Re: Tanzer 27 Rub Rail

You can probably get a rubber extrusion that is an exact match to the original rubrail from Wefco Rubber, at wefcorubber.com. Send them a sample, they do not display all 8000 profiles in stock on their website.

I just ordered 80 feet from them for my Tanzer 28, Wefco profile #3873, for $5 per foot plus shipping, about another $57.

Wefco material is EPDM rubber, not vinyl, so it is easier to bend, more resilient. It comes in black, grey or white. They make it to order. Small quantities are not a problem.

Re: Tanzer 27 Rub Rail

Did anybody identify a part number for the AMF Paceship PY26 rub rail replacement? My '78 PY26 rub rail is a real mess and I want to replace it. If I had access to the boat (Stored in Mich, but live in PA...) I could take a piece off and trace it for Barbour or Taco. Any help will be appreciated! I really want to get this fixed.

Try Tanzer Boat Parts in Pointe Claire Quebec. l bought a lot of parts from them several years ago when we had a Tanzer 22. Believe they are still in business.

Oh, wow! Great idea. I see their website is up and they appear to be in business. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!
