Tank Drain

Im trying to get out the last few drops out of a 20 gal fuel tank. I am thinking to insert a long piece of foam through the tank opening and scrape it around the bottom. Take out, squeeze fuel and repeat.

Any other suggestions/ideas?

Re: Tank Drain

Might not be any safer than a lighted match, but, how about a shop-vac with a long tube attached?

Re: Tank Drain

You can get a DC fuel pump cheaply but it won't be up to getting drops out. If this is diesel that's ok. If you're talking about welding on a gas tank tie will be flushing out the tank a couple of times, ventillating the tank and then it will be iffy if the welder thinks its' safe. You may have to tru the the match
