binocular reticle
Sailorman: To use the range reticle in your binoculars you have to know its Constant, ie., "K" factor. The formula is: Distance = K x (Object Dimension/Reticle Reading), or, K = Dist. x RR/OD. Try this: Place two small objects 2-feet apart then move away 100-feet. Sight through the binoculars and note how many reticle spaces fit between the two objects, say four for example. "K" would equal 100 x 4 / 2 = 200. Now to determine other distances, just divide 200 by the Reticle Reading and multiply the result by the known Object Dimension. Regards, George
