Looking for a "coach" dry sailing from Brickyard Cove in SF Bay
I tried this post on Learning to Sail and didn't get a response. I assume that most members don't check that forum regularly so here goes.
I have have completed Basic Keelboat and Basic Cruising with OCSC and have recently purchased a dry-sailed Merit 25 with roller furler. I would like to hire someone to accompany me as "coach" or "instructor" for at least my first sail as I learn to single-hand or sail the boat with minimal amateur assistance. The boat is on a trailer at Brickyard Cove and the pre-purchase surveyor said that it was ready to sail. I have been doing maintenance and safety equipment purchases since the purchase.
I'm thinking 3 or 4 hours at the convenience of the coach. I prefer someone who crane launches and it would be nice if they know the Merit 25 but it is really a common boat, especially if you know the J24. I have been through the launch process once -- it did lift without failure.
I would appreciate a recommendation by private message.
