New Here and to Sailing!

Hello,
I just joined the site yesterday and replied to a existing posting re: "Assisstance List"

My wife and I are completely new to sailing, but not to boating. It has always been our desire to have a cottage or a get away of some type. Reading and watching videos such as "Cruising LeaLea" on You Tube with Chuck and Laura Rose from Hawaii has helped us reach our decision.

There are two boats we are looking at to purchase. One is a CS27 and the other is a Hughes 31, both are 1980 and appear in very nice condition. We need to decide on one before we schedule a survey. As I said in replying to the existing post, we live in Port Dalhousie in southern Ontario and will need to sail (transport) one of these boats across Lake Ontario. A member from sailnet sent me a private message offering advice and assistance. Because of being new to the site, I wasn't able to reply? I appreciated your message and
maybe you could PM your email address?

Thanks and look forward to being part of the sailing community.
Ron

They are members here as well, vega1860 is the userid.
I watch them as well, great videos, good narration and fun as well.
drakeParagon is another good video blogger, he has some really good videos on a variation of boats and places as well.
There's some really great people here and wish you the best for your sailing adventures.

Welcome aboard! Always good to grow the Great Lakes sailor population here on SN.

Hi Kalina-Lona,

Good luck with the purchase process. It can be both exciting and exhausting!

We are just west of you over in Jordan at the BHYC. Feel free to send a PM if you ever plan to sail over - the first round is on me.
