Could You Survive a Collision

Could your boat survive a collision with this? Its been floating around in the north pacific for over a year now. Probably would not show up well on radar as from the fouling looks to float only a couple feet above the water. Wonder what else is out there.....

Hopefully. Our Caliber has watertight collision bulkheads in the bow and reinforced forward section of hull and keel leading edge. Most of the area below the WL is a sealed tank.

Still would not want to test it though.

Yea this dock has some serious mass (steel and concrete). Hitting it dead on with even a large yacht would not move it, and I would think it would bring most boats to a dead stop. I would think this could do some serious damage to even a large commercial ship. Better keep me eyes peeled.

Want to guess how many containers are out there floating at the surface.

World wide I would say 2,000. But in all my sailing never seen one. A friend has sailed the world for 20 years (sailed not cruised) and has never seen one.
I imagine they sink after a while.

Yes, I would survive the collision.

If I stepped off my boat at just the right time.

I have the same plan if I am about to run into a concrete wall with my car, I will just jump out of the car.

Heck, just use your boat hook and push it away.
