Hope not, but let's take a pass on arguing over the potential threat to our harbors and turbine helo maintenance, and let's find this jerk.

No doubt that the numb nuts will talk.

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Coast Guard Checking if Sandy Hook Hoax Is Tied to One in Texas

The vessel-in-distress calls, placed to the Coast Guard three weeks and half a continent apart, were strangely similar.

The boat captains reaching out for help used Coast Guard terminology — referring to passengers as “souls” and talking of “taking on water.” They both contacted the Coast Guard’s Vessel Traffic Service, something else that civilian boaters do not typically do. The men’s voices even sounded a bit alike.

And in both cases, the Coast Guard says, the calls — two claiming to be placed from a yacht that had suffered a fatal explosion off Sandy Hook, N.J., on June 11, and one said to be from a fishing boat floundering off Galveston, Tex., on May 20 — turned out to be hoaxes.

Now the Coast Guard is looking for a connection between the calls and analyzing recordings to determine if they were made by the same man, officials said at a news conference on Wednesday at the Coast Guard building at the foot of Manhattan.
