Sorry to see that Tom. I know it won't be the same, but drive over here. You can sit on my boat, using your good hand to hold a beer, (or rum!). I'll do the sailing.

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

Ouch.
A rule I have violated, usually to my regret, over the years is one thye taught us in junior high school shop class: Always cut AWAY from your body, never towards it. And yes, that same day within a half hour some girl put an engraving chisel into her palm.

Then there was the first time I was using a can crushing recycling machine. Crump, load, crump, load, crump, load, "Remove can and reinsert..." Sure, I'm going to stick my hand into a balky hydraulic crusher that can't figure out what it wants to crush?

Tommy! You know, like docking, never let yourself get in between the boat and the dock. OTOH this makes a good excuse to work on the Race Committee, hanging out with the mixed drinks all afternoon. (G)

Ouch! I'm still hurting just from looking at it. Sorry about your thumb and the lost season.

Heal fast, dude. Okay, just curious... was taking a photo your first inclination after nearly severing your thumb?

Ah, thought all that stainless looked familiar. Hope you weren't drinking Rum on the job... You can't trust sailors you know...

Now, Rum and pain killers are a great way to vacation after a trip to the ER!

Ouch! Sorry to hear you were hurt. Hope if heals fast. Just give yourself a promotion to Commodore and let your buddies work the boat while you spout orders at 'em. They'll love that....

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

You're gonna have to come up with a better story than "cutting the top off a plastic bottle" when you show off the scar. Something about a potentially man-eating beast and/or unselfish acts to heroism on your part are obviously needed here. Bonus points if you can work in a connection to sailing. Remember, all the internal sutures count twice, maybe even three times, when giving the stitch-count, particularly after a beer or two.

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

I Took pictures during the repair as it was a good way to kill time and i DO not want to post the more nasty ones

The worst part of the deal was i had not eaten from 7 AM and was not allowed any food or fluid

There was a good chance they could have needed to USE and OR BUT he was able find and repair the tendon without more cutting AND FINISHED at 7:30 PM

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Farging ouch, Tom!

Puhlease be more careful in the future and heal up fast before the season ends.

In the meantime you can still fire up your ol' A4 and putter around on the Sound.
Sorry to hear/see that picture. From the title of this thread at first I thought it was your boat that was damaged.
