Ouch, I would be so pissed, but I guess it could have been worse. Heel quick and install some electric winches

Just as well it wasn't me. I nearly fainted at the mere sight of your finger. If it was mine they'd have needed smelling salts.

Well soon Tom.

Cheers

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS; I took 1/4" off the top of my left thumb using a cicular saw (the saw bounced on the workmate too much depth on the blade ). Guess youll not be hitching a lift for a while ! But I'm all mended now with all the sensations back just carfull if or when your gripping things try not to busrt the wound when healing. Hope it all goes well and a quick recovery for you.; A bit late now but as always GO SAFE

ok, i am rethinking my foray into using an angle grinder for the first time today......maybe i will just use a chisel.

Hope you get better soon, and maybe you can just supervise by pointing your tape-swaddled thumb at what needs to be done. cheers!

Yikes. Hope you are back in action soon.

The gash is going to heal up a bit faster than you might imagine. I also suspect that the doc is going to want you to exercise that repaired tendon and not just sit the sidelines for the entire season. Worst case, I'm guessing a splint and a glove and you can still get out there for a low stress cruise in about a month. Hope so anyway.

Best to your recovery.

Re: My seaon is screwed GRUESOME IMAGE

The gash will be fine in 10 days the CUT tendon is on a 90 day plan

I get a new cast on July 2 at which point the chance of getting the wound infected which is the BIG issue right now will have passed

I will be pushing for a swimming cast as right now even taking a shower is and ordeal

Hang in there and take full advantage of all the sympathy. You'll be back at it in no time.

Just wear safety glasses and KEEP THE GUARD ON IT and you'll be fine..

What kind of core did he use for the repair? Pro-Balsa looks to be the best for this application... May want to also bevel the gap some...
