Keep the snapshots coming smack. I bought our cat "ready to sail", so didn't have to do what you're doing... that said, I will someday and seeing the process beforehand is a Good Thing (tm)

We used to sail beach cats a lot. I took my boy out on one when it was blowing 5 and he was only 6 months old. We all had bigger monohulls to sail as well but we'd always end up racing our beach cats instead.
It was funny, but when I started racing cars my beach cat experience really helped me. When you're trapeezed out and flying a hull, there is a gentle balance between the tiller and the mainsheet, bringing in the mainsheet or falling off a little to fly it higher and letting the sheet out a little or heading upwind a little to lower the hull. That feeling, the balance between the mainsheet and the rudders, felt exactly like the balance between the throttle and the steering when gently sliding the racecar through a corner when you can steer with the throttle as well as the wheel and you can accelerate or decelerate a bit by steering or lifting/pressing the pedal. It's not something you can even really think your way through, you just feel it.
