Track and slide on bottom of boom

I recently bought a used 11 foot boom, that I've cleaned stripped, etched, painted and fit to a gooseneck and mast clamp. My question is that there is a track on the base of the boom with a slide on it that looks like it should hold a block. I've never seen a mainsheet with a sliding block on the boom. Anyone have experience with this?

Re: Track and slide on bottom of boom

Isomat, the maker of the boom on my boat has a slide slot for the various things that attach to the bottom. I only have the main sheet and vang attached, they have a kind of sliding pad eye that is drilled and riveted in place. If they ever break I'll use boom bails in their place

Re: Track and slide on bottom of boom

Denise,
One additional question. Does the block for the mainsheet move in the slide slot? Is the block attached to the sliding pad eye?
Thank you,
Phil

Re: Track and slide on bottom of boom

the shackle is on the pad eye and the pad eye is drilled and pop riveted, other wise it would slide. maybe Isomat had some kind of stop for them. rigrite would be the source.
