Saugatuk MI Entrance and docking

We're planning a trip to Saugatuk MI from the other side of the lake for this weekend, looking for opinion on best place to transient dock, as well as insight on getting to the marina possibly at night? Is it an entrance that would not be advisable at night for the first time? We draw 5.5ft.
Thanks!
