Seven Days in Kenai Fjords Natl Park

Just got back from first outing of the year, spent 7 days in Kenai Fjords Natl. Park area -- Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord. Lights winds so no "sailing" but had a great time with lots of whales (including what we think was a Blue whale), seals, bears and more.

I went kayaking in Aialik Bay for a week back in the late '80s. I saw my first bald eagles, salmon runs, and grizzly bears, paddled through ice soup, played hide and seek with the seals, fished for my dinner and basically lived in a beer commerical. All that was missing was the Swedish Bikini Team! This was before the cruise boats put the Bay on their visit list; the only signs of human life were a couple of park service cabins and a ranger station in the bay. And the rangers were happy for the company. We let them share our beer and Jack Daniels, they let us sleep on the floor of their cabin (it was raining pretty hard and our tent leaked like a sieve). Here are two pictures from my long ago vacation: me paddling through the mess around Aialik glacier, and us camping right near the same pile of ice. This was in the summer.

What a great vacation. One of my bucket list items is to cruise Alaska and also Norway/Denmark/Sweden to visit the Fjords. Hey who says it has to be tropical to be paradise, right?

Pictures are great, but looks brrrrrr to me.
I'm intrigued with your lazy jack sail cover set up. Do you have any pics that show how it is constructed? I've made my own, still have a few glitches and need to remake it.
