19 foot SeaKing Sailboat

I am looking for any information about a 19 foot sailboat supposed from a company called Seaking ln 1975. This is suppose to be a Canadian built boat with a swing keel. I am hoping to see a picture of the original rigging especially the main sheet purchase. I can not find any info on it yet. I have uploaded a picture of a similar one that is 18 foot Thanks

Montgomery wards

Seaking was a brand name that was used by the Montgomery Ward department store, my dad had a speedboat and motor by that name in the 60's

Re: 19 foot SeaKing Sailboat

Thanks for your post, I have found some references to the Montgomery ward boats you mentioned but nothing like my boat which is very much like a Cal 20 but with a swing Keel. If you come across any URL's that help me make the connection I would really appreciate it.

There is a "sea crown" boat that looks very similar. Some info is available on the web.

18 foot Sea Crown Sailboat

Okay the boat is 18 foot. Made by Calgan Marine from VanCouver B.C. It really is a small swing keel version of the Cal 20. I plan on using it on Lake Isabella In CA. but will also drop it in the local harbor. I am still messing with the rig. I thinik I got the Main Sheet figured out but there is no back stay? 2 side stays 1 forward stay. The boom sticks out past the transom. This may not be OEM. Eventually it is going to need the Keel worked on and re-epoxied everything else is surprisingly ok. The (tiny) Jib snaps on and half the snaps need replaced, I'll try to do that myself. I still would love to see the original main sheet configureation as it is different than anything I have ever seen. I'll keep posting.

Re: 19 foot SeaKing Sailboat

Did you ever have any luck finding the proper rigging for this boat. We aren't sure how to rig the traveler on the Sea Crown 18. We know what is there now is wrong. Anything you can provide would be great.

Thank you,
Janie

Re: 19 foot SeaKing Sailboat

I will. It will be a couple of days before we are back down at the boat. Thanks for the quick reply. Appreciate any feedback you can give us on what we have and how to make it better.
