Cruising the Canals and Rivers of Europe

I would be interested in information about cruising the canals and rivers of Europe, namely sources for charts (electronic and otherwise) / obstacles (max draft & heights & min speeds) / fees and taxes / political requirements (visas, etc) / fuel and provisioning availability / in short, just about everything that a know nothing would be faced with in such an undertaking with either a moderately sized power or sailboat. Thanks, gts15454

Re: Cruising the Canals and Rivers of Europe

A lot is available online - simple google the navigable route you want, e.g.: Canal de Bourgogne or Rhine River Navigation. There are probably a good number of books that others may know more about as well.
