Re: help me i.d. this saucy SV? pics inside

ok, im out of town for three more days, but i think i might have figured it out. i think it is in fact a santana 27 or maybe a 28 with the windows covered from the outside. also the bow looks to have been reworked ,hince the new white paint and rounded nose.if you look closly you can see 3 or 4 windows behind the macrgegor-esq tinded plexi. what do you guys think?

I suppose it could be a Santana 27 with a nose job....

It does have the off centre companionway you mentioned. They were built between '69 and '74/

yup, thats got to be it. i hope this shop does good glass work, i think they have a lean on it for non payment of the nose job. if it all checks out i think ill offer like $1,600 boat+trailer depending on the glass work,i might have to pass or i might offer a lil more.

There are a surprising number of S27s still sailing in SoCal. They aren't kept up as nice as they could be, but are nimble, even in cruiser mode.

There is one the races Friday night at MDR.

Check if it has a cottage cheese headliner. It isn't paint but Gelcoat sprayed to look like a cottage cheese clg. which was all the rage back then. Apparently, it was devilishly difficult to spray. I happened to share a drink with the salesman who claims to have invented the technique an hour ago.

Get the dang HIN, send a note to Schock@wdschock.com asking to confirm the make, model, and year. Otherwise we just wasting each others time.
