Words fail me

We tied up our crab boat across from this sailboat yesterday and I just had to take some pictures. I'll start by saying that whoever has done all the stainless welding and fabricating is talented. Beyond that.... words fail me. Note the fire hose reel on the foredeck being used as a windlass.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Re: Words fail me

I've been wondering how to build or re purpose something to help me raise my anchor. That one is big and ugly but I bet it works well!

Re: Words fail me

I'm sure it does work well Denise, if you don't mind the 3' diameter reel up there to snag your sheets, etc:-))
The "hard dodger" is fiberglass or possibly ferro-cement because it looks like they used a trowel to smooth it out. The "windows" are black plastic like you would use in your crawlspace (reduces visibility somewhat I'm guessing).
Like I said, the stainless work (and there's a lot of it) is well done.
