Question Cruising Guide Book?

I ran a few searches and got nowhere, so I'd really like some opinions of what book(s) can tell me the best routes thru the Caribbean. I'm really heading for the Western areas....Belize, Panama, but who know where I might go. I've got pilot charts, but more data would be great.

Thanks!

Re: Cruising Guide Book?

Where are you headed from?

Les Weatheritt's book "caribbean passagemaking" covers the Virgins, the Windwards and Leewards....

Re: Cruising Guide Book?

For Belize and the Yucatan, you want Freya Rauscher's Cruising Guide to Belize and Mexico's Caribbean Coast ...

For the Bay Islands & Guatemala, you want Steve Pavlidis' Cruising Guide to The Northwest Caribbean...

And for Panama, you want A Complete Sailors Guide to The Isthmus of Panama by Eric Bauhaus...

For routes anywhere, Jimmy Cornell's World Cruising Routes is always a great place to start...

Re: Cruising Guide Book?

I leaving from Corpus Christi......then Cancun, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama (maybe), but I may want to head for the Cayman Islands and Jamaica.

Great info guys! Thanks!

....any more is also appreciated.

I've heard that heading from CC, straight to Cancun is not always the best way, but more of an Eastern route before heading South. I'd like more info from people that have experience...unlike me, of course.
