Mechanic near Stamford or Norwalk CT?
Hi, can anyone provide a referral for a good diesel mechanic around Stamford CT that would travel to my boat to do some engine work?

I'm sure any marina can recommend someone if no one chimes in.
While in Rye on a mooring we avoided begging our diesel mechanic to make a trip to Rye from Croton-On-Hudson. He patiently talked us through Changing Filters, Emptying out our full diesel tank and replacing it with clean diesel, bleeding all the air out of the system from primary filter-lift pump-secondary filter-injection pump-injector. This took all of Monday and 14 launch trips to go get stuff. I no longer fear my 2QM15. I think I can do that changing filters/bleeding stuff now in 30 minutes.
What seems to be the trouble?

Along the line of thought jp**3 started, if you get this book: you are not afraid of a socket wrench set you maybe able to save yourself some money and time.

I can't seem to get fuel through the injector pump. I think I have exceeded 14 trips on the launch! ;) This is my last step before spending the money on an injector pump.

You cracked open the fuel line coming out of the injector pump and either primed manually or cranked the engine? After 8 hours this is where we were. Solution was to bleed air by opening fuel line leading from secondary fuel filter into injection pump. The second we saw fuel she fired up.

As jppp suggests, you might need to try bleeding the fuel lines of air. You don't know if you might need a new lift pump (from the tank) or injector pump (high pressure). Filters need to be changed regularly but I'm sure you've done that by now.

The book I linked to actually covers this for most diesel engines, and other usual maintenance stuff. I've never been sorry that I bought it even though I have a gas engine (Atomic 4).
