That ultimate 20 looks like a really fun boat! But what kind of speeds are we talking upwind? I mean a multi is doing 10 and up no sweat, what will that ultimate 20 do upwind?
With boats like the Ultimate 20 the real speed is off the wind. While they will certainly exceed their hull speed upwind, they will not get into the double digits. My Hotfoot 20 (the hull the U20 is based on) could hang with some larger displacement boats upwind but it wouldn't break onto a full on plane until it cracked off onto a reach. The main problem is that it is very difficult to keep the boat flat enough upwind for the flat hull form to get fully planing.
