Outboard installation

I have to take my motor off my 23 ft sailboat and I am not to worried about taking off, it is putting it back on. How do I do it and not drop it in the drink??

A couple of suggestions. Cheapest and easiest way is to either bring the boat to the dock or bring a dingy up to the stern of the boat and lift it off. You can also buy a lift handle like easy lift from c-level or engine caddy from davis. Both give you a lifting handle on top of the engine. if you want to get really clever, you can disconnect your main sheet and use the boom to hoist the engine off. I would strongly suggest you get a friend to help out as well
