Re: Boat Show Time!!!

You guys are killing me. I finally made the trek from California last year and between the show and a week in DC, I had the BEST time. I really wanted to go back this year, but my kid is competing in a power lifting competition in Vegas on Oct 20th. So, between flying him in from Ohio (OSU student) and flying me in to support him and all the hotel bills, my travel budget is tapped out. However, I WILL be there next year. I'll miss the roast beef sandwiches, the crab cakes and seeing all the boats I can't afford. Next time, I want to allow some time to see more of Annapolis, what a beautiful little town.

So, you wold be the nice couple walking around the show tethered to a grounding strap? That will make it easier to identify you.

Kidding aside, hope all is going well since your strike.

We've traditionally hosted a Sailnet gathering on the Friday evening after the show at Port Annapolis marina, and this year is no exception; who's in?
I bet the tear down is quite a show to watch.

You doing a get together the friday after the show? October 12th?
You are probably already ahead of me on this, but maybe you would start a thread on your get together specifically? i would like to come this year as I am now FINALLY in the area, living in the same home as the rest of my family (had to resign my job to get here but oh well). It would be so nice to meet SNers in person and have faces to put with names.

Re: Boat Show Time!!!

I am VERY, VERY worried about this years boat show.

Our boat is just about done. Other than some cabinetry I'm building in, all the big jobs are finished. So this year I can just go to the boat show, browse and enjoy a few painkillers.

The last time I said that was back in 2008 when I'd finished re-doing our 22. That year the wife ended up talking me into a bigger boat!

She already dropped a few hints this summer that a bigger boat "some day" would be nice. What am I going to do!?!

Re: Boat Show Time!!!

Nancy and I went last year for the first time. We didn't plan it for this year and I'm missing it already. That was also our first trip to Baltimore, where we stayed, and absolutely loved it. The admiral already informed me that it's on next year's agenda. I'll drink a bottle of Mount Gay that week end as a toast of those who are going to be there.

Sorry, that was unclear - Friday during the show weekend - Oct 5 - after the show closes for the day at 7 pm or thereabouts.

Re: Boat Show Time!!!

Wingnwing,
Probably quite clear if I were to read a bit slower and focus on either Sailnet or work but not try to read both at once. Got my interest peaked thinking I might make it this year, but Friday the 5th probably won' work out for me. Maybe next year.

Cheers!
