It depends mostly on weight and whether your G30 has a tiller or a wheel, a lot have been upgraded.
Take a look at raymarine's website, they have a nice walk through on how to choose the right one for you.

Re: choosing an autopilot for Grampian 30

Get one rated for a 40 footer what ever you do. They cost more but will work in all conditions. Every time I deliver a boat with an auto helm rated for the size of the boat, the belt slips in weather or if it's a tiller it works too much. I up graded or over sized a couple of boat's I regularly deliver and fixed the problem. My 28 sloop has a tiller auto helm from a Cal 36. Rather than go zeeeeeem zooooooooom zeeeeeem zooooom, it goes zit............zup.

I put a Raymarine wheel pilot on in June and it's been a better pilot than the Simrad was. It's the wp-p70. I have not been in weather over 25kts yet but so far so good. It is sturdy and keeps a sharp course.

Lancer 36

Ya, you listen to those things for day's and day's on end, you start to hear them in your head when your miles inland and day's after a voyage. The day I installed one rated for a much larger boat than mine, the cockpit got a lot quieter and my audio hallucinations went from the annoying whine of the auto helm and back to the ding ding ....ding dang ding....of the hallyards on the mast.
