One Step Closer To DAS BOOT

It's late October. I'm in Chicago. The temperature outside is 78. It's good to be alive.

Brief synopsis: I need to sail but gotta sell the house cuz I can't even afford an oar (medical condition: thedamnmmortgatgeiskillingmeitis)

What a gorgeous day! If I wait long enough global warming will cause the seas to rise and I'll have a waterfront view. Time to build an ark!

Back to reality...

I took advantage of this gorgeous day finishing up loose ends. There's a lot of them. But since it was so nice outside, I decided to finish the back railing. I wish I could say "aft railing".

I can't tell you how much I hated this. Not that I don't like the work, I just hate not having water underfoot. I like to float.

Ideas floating around inside my head said, "You need to make the house "gotta have" or it's not going to sell. Don't know if that's true or not but I bought it.

Thing is, how will that translate into boat buying cash? Fingers crossed!

On the bright side, it's that much more you'll appreciate it when you finally go aboard.

Yes! I toured that sub back in the very early 60s' and the tour guide was in fact one of U 505's original crew.
Wow! did he have a great story to tell.
Thanks for posting.

I remember being in that when I was a kid. Even then it seemed terribly cramped. I recall thinking I would never want to be in one of those things!

As for finishing up the odds and ends here, if I keep spending so much time online here and looking at boat listings, I'll never finish anything! I think that trip to Annapolis ruined me!
