Effective immediately, I will stop commenting on things like lightning or
radar reflectors etc. The reason is that I am starting a new company called Gulf Marine Technologies, Inc. to make a new type of easily deployable/stowable
radar reflector, a lightning ground system, 'Faraday bags" for lightning for storing your hand held electronics during storms, a stowable foldable satellite TV dish and some other related stuff. Any comments I made on such topics could be construed as being self serving.
I tried to ask about advertising on Sailnet but got no response. I'd still like to do so.
Right now, I am trying to decide how much patent protection I need. My other business (
Parallax Research Inc -- a manufacturer and provider of WDS, SEM, parallel beam, x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray spectrometers, x-ray optics, proportinal counters, Parallax Research, WDXRF, XRF, Wavelength Dispersive Spectroscopy) is killing me with costs of obtaining patents.
Gulf Marine Tech will NOT have a web site until at least three of these products is ready for market. I'd like to be at the Fort lauderdale Boat show in Feb.
At my age (56), I've forgotten more physics than I know so starting another business in that is iffy. They say do what you love so I have done enough cruising on small boats that I kinda know some problems I'd like to see solved so why not make a business of them?
