Meanwhile on the other coast...

I know a lot of you are battling Sandy, and I really hope everyone comes through it OK. Not trying to be insensitive, but today was just spectacular here in the San Juans. Warm sun for the first half of the day (we've had weeks of rain) and then scattered clouds with a light breeze. Got out for a short sail.

St Anna and jackdale like this.

Which island is that in the last photo? I used to live on Whidbey and spent some time on those ferries.

Dangit, homesick.

No worries about sensitivities here! I am glad to hear of something other than Sandy (literally--it's roaring outside). Would rather think about actual sailing than what might be transpiring down at the marina. Anyway, it sounds like you deserved some nice weather there if you've had weeks of rain.

Is that not the Anacortes to Sidney ferry?

Re: Meanwhile on the other coast...

It was one of the local ones Jack, it came through Obstruction Pass (they do that once in awhile) from Anacortes and docked at Lopez then Orcas, Shaw and Friday Hbr (the milk run).
It was nice Ward, you're welcome.

Re: Meanwhile on the other coast...

We had steady downpours until 3 pm and just a peek of sun before it set.. nice shots, John. Gotta feel for the east coasters right about now, though....
