Clearance of 17St causeway bridge in Ft Lauderdale

Does anyone know the clearance in the center of the span? The Coast Pilot doesn''t list the new bridge but other sources show it is 55'' above MHW. Where would I confirm whether that''s at the center or side of the span?

According to the official website, the bridge is 55 ft. in the closed position. I have to believe that is the highest point and, therefore, is the center of the span. To check it out, see www.dot.state.fl.us/structures/botm/17thstreet.17thstreet.htm

Hope that helps.

As far as I know the span has a tender and it opens every 15 minutes I think it is.
Unless they have torn the old span down that should be no problem. They have Maxie boats J boats you name it that have to get up the river so not a problem.
