I say do the best you can with what you have to work with... After you have done your best, "Stay alive" so I will have a better chance filing a clime and having some help getting your bow spirit out of my gunnels.
A boat can be replaced we cannot…

Well done, but I didn't feel anything deemed insulting~
I think it would have been a fool to stay on board unless one had extreme financial constraints & that was your only option- shelters are offered for free in this country- folks should take advantage of such relative unique resources
