Re: If you had a fully loaded sailboat where would you sail to?

i'd take five or six years to circumnavigate. I'd stay as long as I was enjoying a place, then move on when I'd had my fill. I'd add an extra year for the Med, and another six months or so for the Baltic. Hell, maybe stay in Sweden a year...

So, make it a lifelong circumnavigation for me.

I'll come home when I'm too old to hank on sails and clean bottoms. What's the point of having loads of stories if you've got no rocking chair lined up at the end and grandkids to tell 'em to?

Exactly the same as I am. South to the Sea of Cortez, Mazatlan, San Blas, Vallarta, the Gold Coast, Manzanillo and beyond.
I'm broke and scared sh*tless and we're going anyway.
zeehag and HDChopper like this.

The simple answer is where ever I want to.

We think the Carib will do for a few years, then maybe the west coast of america (north and south).

I have no desire for a 3 week trans ocean hop, but who knows.

Re: If you had a fully loaded sailboat where would you sail to?

I'd have to start at the Bahamas. I've only had a taste of it and I want more. From there, I think it would be wherever the wind takes me. When I look at the charts I imagine heading down from the Bahamas to the Turks and Caicos then stopping at DR then to Puerto Rico, BVI and on down. I've always wanted to sail to Guadeloupe and Martinique and then I'd keep going...

BTW, how fully loaded are we on this trip?
