In Dead Calm I seem to remember a poignant scene with Nicole Kidman without benefit of swim costume......

I want that bosun's chair! Self lifting! but it's not going to help reach the mast head without arms extended above one's head.

Lol, I love that "oh sh!t," look he gives when he stops work at the mast and sees the huge thunderhead.
Looks a lot like The Dove but minus the cute blonde.

I wondered about that also, but he'd probably pull a crescent out anyway to check the retaining nut that holds the antenna body to the masthead.

He doesn't take advantage of the tether on the wrench, but when I think back on all the tools I've dropped in the water, that may be an example of the movie getting a detail right!

Re: This should be a good movie.

This looks like a horror movie for the yachting set- being awoken by a floating container in the hull...

With his navigation equipment and radio disabled, the man sails unknowingly into the path of a violent storm....... Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel.
Good thing he's old-school. If he were one of the new-age electron junkies, the movie would be a lot shorter, with no happy ending.

Best books and movies are about how thing go really wrong and best reality shows are the ones you live and do yourself ( thing still go really wrong).
