At least no one was hurt and you sound as though you still have a sense of humor Barrie.

Ok, stanchions are easy, glass/epoxy work is easy and a mast can be had for a 28' footer fairly easy (and even made of spruce while you locate an aluminum stick over time and at your leisure) ...

Maybe you can keep her and fix her? Keel ok? Shaft and rudder ok?

Is the $400 what they are giving the OP? Or is that the salvage value after payout (and if so, how much is the insurance payout)?

Re: /cry

Bummer. I saw that on the news (fellow Vermonter here). Importantly, glad you were okay because that could've been much worse.

We are headed that way (VT) next year, also on a trailer. Hope we have better luck.

Apparently its on a hill that has a wind issue, a boat wrecked there last year. Its the Richmond exit on I89 a few before Burlington.

The keel was OK, the rudder was bent 60 degrees. Its beyond my skills to fix, I'll take the insurance and let someone else get the salvage

I know the exact spot and when I used to work that area recall an 18 wheeler or two blown off similarly... I93N in NH has a similar spot just above Ashland..
