Not a good way to store your boat for the winter

At least I am in the market for a new one

Re: /cry

Wowza! I hope you are well insured.

What year and make was it? It looks like she was in good shape.

I would look for a similar vessel, and strip this one.

Re: /cry

It was a 1981 O'Day 28, really good shape sadly enough. It was a boat I was planning to keep a while :/

Its been written off, but I have a few things off it.

Re: /cry

How bad is actually? Can you buy it back at a fraction of the value now that it's totaled (and fix it)? Got any more pics?

Re: /cry

The salvage value was given as $400. Its in bad shape though, the mast is bent, 4 stanchions are ripped out and there are 3 big scratches in the hill that have penetrated the fiber.

Re: /cry

Sure, she'll do 60 mph to windward...until she broaches.

consider the expression on the uninvolved driver's face who hears a noise, looks in the rearview and sees 28' of o'day chasing him up the freeway.
davidpm and Barquito like this.

Re: /cry

Earlier in the year there was someone selling an Oday 28 for cheap with a bent rudder shaft up in the St. Albans area. If that one's still around, you could set yourself up for small $$$...

If you are gonna scrap your boat, I may be interested in buying some of the sails from you...
