Sailing Humor

Awhile back I started a thread asking for quotes and humor from SailNetters, with the intention of posting the results on our website, the Frugal-Mariner.

Well, I finally got around to it. The results are here.

The SailNet humor is about 3/4 the way down the page. If I missed any, I either apologize for missing, or didn't think it was very funny. Assume the former.

I'm still working updating the serious quotes page, but with winter staring us in the face and for many of you, sailing is already out of the question, I thought you might enjoy a little humor.

Hey, and don't be shy, if you've got some humor, some jokes, some funny anecdotes, post them here and I'll be glad to steal them and post them on Frugal Mariner.

Re: Sailing Humor

Thanks for that Larry!
I love the one about the 240 lbs. of tools up the mast. It is a variant of a brick layer joke I have heard before. Picture a pulley, a barrel of bricks etc...

Re: Sailing Humor

"The Front Fell Off" is priceless - John Cleese and the Pythons never did better.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Re: Sailing Humor

I always liked this one:

Little boy to his mom: "I want to be a sailor when I grow up!"
Mom to little boy: "Son, you have to choose one or the other."

Re: Sailing Humor

kwaltersmi: I had seen that one somewhere - thought I'd included it but apparently not. It's in there now!

Thanks.
